What to Expect From American International Group's Q2 2025 Earnings Report

New York-based American International Group, Inc. (AIG) offers insurance products for commercial, institutional, and individual customers. Valued at $47.9 billion by market cap, the company provides property-casualty insurance, life insurance, and retirement services. The leading global insurance organization is expected to announce its fiscal second-quarter earnings for 2025 after the market closes on Wednesday, Aug. 6.
Ahead of the event, analysts expect AIG to report a profit of $1.62 per share on a diluted basis, up 39.7% from $1.16 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company beat the consensus estimates in three of the last four quarters while missing the forecast on another occasion.
For the full year, analysts expect AIG to report EPS of $6.18, up 24.9% from $4.95 in fiscal 2024. Its EPS is expected to rise 25.1% year over year to $7.73 in fiscal 2026.

AIG stock has underperformed the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX) 11.5% gains over the past 52 weeks, with shares up 8.6% during this period. Similarly, it underperformed the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund’s (XLF) 25.8% gains over the same time frame.

On May 1, AIG reported its Q1 results, and its shares closed up more than 3% in the following trading session. Its adjusted EPS of $1.17 beat Wall Street expectations of $1.05. The company’s net premiums written came in at $4.5 billion, which was flat compared to the year-ago quarter.
Analysts’ consensus opinion on AIG stock is reasonably bullish, with a “Moderate Buy” rating overall. Out of 16 analysts covering the stock, seven advise a “Strong Buy” rating, one suggests a “Moderate Buy,” and eight give a “Hold.” AIG’s average analyst price target is $90.94, indicating a potential upside of 10.3% from the current levels.
